Rider Application Manager

Moving an events company online to manage various customer interactions and data collection.

Client & Brief

RHL Activities is one of the leading off-road event promoters in Europe and the team behind the annual beach race in Weston-super-mare.

For selected events, RHL manage the responsibility of rider registration and processing. This was previously a paper based exercise, whereby customers would need to ring the office and request a form in the post. RHL wished to remove as much of the paper-work as possible and migrate this functionality into an online setting where it can be tracked and the customer provided with updates via email and an online dashboard.


Building on a full site refresh undertaken in previous sprints delivering core event, application submission and social media functionality, we created a bespoke account service that enabled riders to register with RHL and submit their details quickly and easily to several of the events offered by the company.

These applications are then tracked via the My Account Dashboard indicating the progress point in the submission journey and if any additional actions are required. For the admin team we created a similar interface enabling search, filter and management of every aspect of the application. Options to trigger email updates and status of payment were also provided.


The application manager functionality has moved RHL a step closer towards an solely online operation, saving costly administration time previously utilised on calls and emails with customers. Riders and prospective customers are now given clear direction as to where their application can be tracked, and this is the first port of call for any updates.
